Wow, what a deal - my buddy sold me the engines, some of the shield generators, and one of the laser banks for the total budget I had. Then, we had a few really great money run opportunities, and took those before doing our upgrades. With the profit we could afford a couple more things.
So, it's not long until we enter "ship of Theseus" territory. Here's a rundown of the changes to the ship's major systems.
+ Power Systems - cells and converters upgraded to mil-spec.
+ Thrusters - racing thrusters exchanged for interceptor thrusters.
+ Laser Banks - should be more powerful with new converters?
+ Shield Modules - installed in a double-parabola formation to maximize coverage.
+ Navigational array - increased scanning range by replacing antennas.
As you can see, I'm getting a little ahead of myself with this project. At least I've been getting to spend more time with my sis. Whenever I'm in engineering, or when I'm on the bridge, she's usually right beside me. I figured now would be a good time to write out a detailed log, since she's napping in the lounge.
We've both been worried about Franz. He's hardly ever gone this long. As much as Nayla has been enjoying our time, I can tell she's been counting the days since he was taken away again. Sometimes, when we're in orbit, I can see her looking down towards where the palace would be. I'm rooting for ya too, kid.
Maybe when he's back out here, I can take them on a little vacation. Maybe one of those synthetic beaches. Nayla always used to love burying herself in the sand when we were pups. Anything I can do to cheer them up a little bit.
