Project "Long Haul" is completed. Nayla and I did enough "cargo" running to give us a sizeable upgrade budget. We've upgraded energy cells and power converters to increase our range and give it some real kick. We even gave it a fresh coat of paint. It's yellow with orange stripes. Doesn't exactly blend in, but it's really fuckin cool looking, and I think it'll put a smile on Franz's face when we finally get him back out here. Nayla is standing on the wing, stenciling the ship's name onto the hull right now.
Nayla really enjoys cutting out designs and airbrushing them onto things. She's already done a little bit of that around the ship's walls. I could tell right away which quarters she'd decided to claim, because suddenly there was a bright blue stylized "NN" on the door. I couldn't help but smile when I saw. She's making herself at home, and giving the ship some character.
My old battle buddy and I got back in touch, and he told me he's parting out a surplus last-gen interceptor. I'm going to take a look at the engines and see if they're any good for Million Suns. The racing thrusters are dependable, but they don't turn tightly quite like an interceptor can. Maybe now that we have better power conversion, I can upgrade some other things too. I'll see what he has left on the old craft.
